THE MILL
From the early 1906 until 2005, the northern section of Green Valley was the site of a medium-sized lumber mill that spanned both sides of Green Valley Road now called the East Mill and West Mill. While G&S Sawmill closed in 2005, plans are underway to revitalize a portion of it in service to ecological forestry. The infrastructure built during its years of operation has made a variety of small-scale business ventures possible.
THE EAST MILL
On the east side of Green Valley Road, you’ll find driveway 13024E with our Food Hub, as well as several makers, artists and builders, including:

Under the shade of our solar array gazebo (achieving net zero energy for the entire property!) we host occasional land-based workshops.
THE WEST MILL
The west side of the Green Valley Road, 13024D, is home to several larger scale builders and maker projects. In addition, work is presently being done to revitalize the mill in service to circular economy wood utilization, forest health and wildfire resilience. Businesses in the West Mill are as follows:

Forestree Collective: a collaborative project by Marisha Farnsworth, Jeremy Fisher and Temra Costa, Forestree is working to revitalize the mill and is turning wood from forest restoration and fuel load reduction projects into furniture and other wood products @forestreecollective
Russell Wood Cabinetry: a local cabinet maker @rbwcabinets
There are also several non-business ventures including personal tiny house construction projects, space used for making music, and more
