We are deeply dedicated to improving the abundant natural resources upon which we depend. We have by no means achieved regenerative land stewardship status, yet, but we are firm on our path towards becoming the best land stewards that we can be. While we are on our journey, we are documenting our progress to helping the land be more vibrant than when we first arrived. We are forming our educational nonprofit to ensure the proliferation of best practices and learnings along the way.
PILLAR 2: FARM ENTERPRISE
Green Valley's historic infrastructure provides the perfect site for rural research, innovation, and vibrant farm businesses. The Mill is in the process of being transformed into food and farming hub that is drawing attention from thought-leaders and professionals from a variety of disciplines including; agriculture, culinary arts, ecology, natural resource and land management, nonprofit and sustainable social enterprise. With a multitude of ecosystems, Green Valley is a living laboratory for us and others to go deep into exploring regenerative approaches to land stewardship and innovation through vibrant farm enterprises.
PILLAR 3: COMMUNITY
Our mission is to reconnect people with land. We do this by engaging people with our land-based stewardship practices - holistic grazing, beyond-organic farming, forest management, creek restoration, and other activities. Our educational programming includes seasonally-inspired agricultural events, land stewardship planning and implementation, and our farming activities. We are actively working to create opportunities for people that have limited access to land to establish an ongoing relationship with this valley and are working towards appropriate ways to acknowledge the stewards that tended Green Valley's many ecosystems throughout its history.
