90 minutes from SF & Oakland, we have a simple purpose: reconnecting people with land.
PILLAR 1: AGROECOLOGY
Our mission is to reconnect people with land. We do this by engaging with our land-based stewardship activities - holistic grazing, beyond-organic farming, forest management, creek restoration, and other activities. We have a deep dedication to improving soil and the abundant natural resources available here, in which we depend. Soon we'll be an educational nonprofit to ensure the proliferation of our best practices and learnings along the way.
PILLAR 2: FARM ENTERPRISE
Green Valley's historic infrastructure provides the perfect site for rural research, innovation and sustainable farm businesses. The Mill is in the process of being transformed into food and farming hub that is drawing attention from thought leaders and professionals from a variety of disciplines including; agriculture, culinary arts, ecology, natural resource and land management, nonprofit and sustainable social enterprise. With a multitude of ecosystems, Green Valley is a living laboratory for us and others to go deep into exploring sustainable approaches to land stewardship and innovation through vibrant farm enterprises.
PILLAR 3: COMMUNITY
Green Valley is committed to creating a deep sense of community for both residents and our extended Bay Area allies. We do this through our educational programming that includes seasonally-inspired agricultural events, our farming activities and through our commitment to social justice. We are actively working to create opportunities for people that have limited access to land with ways to establish an ongoing relationship with Green Valley.
